Biography
Edmund Yeo is a Malaysian filmmaker living and working in Malaysia and Japan. His short films, KINGYO (Venice Film Festival 2009) and INHALATION (Sonje Award winner, Busan International Film Festival 2010) secured his reputation as a promising filmmaker. In 2017, he won the Best Director award at the Tokyo International Film Festival for his sophomore feature AQERAT (We, The Dead). In 2020, he directed the Japanese-Malaysian co-production MALU which co-starred Malaysian stars Sherlyn Seo and Mayjune Tan and Japanese stars Masatoshi Nagase and Kiko Mizuhara. His latest film is MOONLIGHT SHADOW (2021), an adaptation of internationally-acclaimed author Banana Yoshimoto’s novella starring Japanese superstar Nana Komatsu.
