Biography
Kiwi Chow Kwun-wai was born in Hong Kong in 1979. He studied directing at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), making the short piece Nian (2003) in his sophomore year and his graduation project Grandma’s Room (2004) won the Best Director award of the school. Upon graduation, he worked in the film industry on continuity, assistant directing and editing; he also served as director and editor on the making-of feature of the martial arts film Fearless (2006) and other films. In 2005, Chow started teaching at his alma mater, HKAPA, as guest lecturer. He also continued to make short films, his 16mm work Upstairs (2006) winning awards at several local and international film festivals.
