Biography

Vagareza, the stage name of Hamílton Augusto (Rio de Janeiro, May 2, 1928 – São Paulo, April 18, 1997), was a Brazilian comedian. Vagareza worked in theater, film, and television with great success in the 1950s and 1960s. He starred in the first production of "Escolinha do Professor Raimundo. " Vagareza was married to actress and dancer Siwa, with whom he had a daughter, Vânia. The couple founded the Siwa Ballet in São Paulo in 1968.
