Gheorghe Dumitru Mureșan, a Romanian-American, is a former NBA center and one of the tallest players in the league's history at 7'7". Nicknamed "the Giant", he wore the number 77 as a tribute to his height. Mureșa played for the Washington Bullets, Seattle Supersonics, and New Jersey Nets. He made his NBA debut on November 17, 1993, and averaged 9. 8 points and 6.
