Biography

Shin Takagi, known by the ring name Shingo Takagi, is a Japanese professional wrestler who debuted in October 2004 with Dragon Gate Japan Pro-Wrestling (DG), where he became a four-time Open the Dream Gate Champion, a one-time Open the Owarai Gate Champion, a seven-time Open the Triangle Gate Champion, and a five-time Open the Twin Gate Champion. He signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) in 2018, where he is a one-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, a one-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion, a five-time NEVER Openweight Champion, and a two-time NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling Champion. In tag team competition, he is a one-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion with BUSHI and a one-time NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champion with BUSHI and EVIL. Outside of NJPW, Takagi has also competed for Ring of Honor (ROH), All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), and various Japanese independents. Widely praised for his in-ring ability throughout his career in both Dragon Gate and NJPW, he was voted Rookie of the Year in the 2005 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards early in his career.
