Biography

Rita Myrat (real name: Margarita Tarsouli, 1911–1985) was a Greek film and stage actress. With a career spanning about 40 years, she participated in 53 performances of the National Theatre (1933–1970), while her filmography includes only 5 films (1930–1963). She appeared in the theatre for the first time in 1932, with the play While the Ship Sails by Galatea Kazantzakis, which was staged on the Main Stage of the National Theatre, directed by Fotos Politis, alongside Sappho Alkaios and Manos Katrakis. She made her film debut in 1930, with the film The Lagiarni directed by Ioannis Loumos. The same year, she appeared in the film The Blue Candles, directed by Michalis Kounelakis.
