Biography

Wilfred "Wilf" McGuinness is a former assocation footballer and manager whose brief playing career for Manchester United and England ended when he was just 22 years old following a broken leg in the 1959-60 season. He remained at United in a coaching role before succeeding Sir Matt Busby as manager in 1969, aged just 31. He was sacked in December 1970. Subsequently he managed Aris Thessaloniki F. C.
