Biography

Carlos Alfonso Barbosa Romero (Cali, January 15, 1944 – Bogotá, October 9, 2025) was a Colombian actor and director of television, film, and theater. Barbosa earned a degree in Architecture from the University of Valle in Cali, where he was part of the university’s theater group, which later became the Department of Performing Arts. He later joined the National Theater Company of Colombia, which went on a tour that ended in Costa Rica. Afterward, he moved to San Andrés and Providencia before returning to Bogotá, where he joined the cast of the Teatro Popular de Bogotá (TPB). His television debut took place in 1969 in the telenovela Candó.
