Distinguished Artist Hữu Mười (full name Nguyễn Hữu Mười, b. 9 September, 1957) is an award-winning Vietnamese actor, director and performing arts educator. Discovered by veteran actor Phi Nga after abruptly applying in a National Theatre’s casting call, he later became one of the few 16 graduates of Hanoi University of Theatre and Performing Arts during the 70s. His breakthrough role came in 1982 when he was offered to play Teacher Thứ in Phạm Văn Khoa’s classic “Làng Vũ Đại Ngày Ấy”, an adaptation of Nam Cao’s famous stories; the role made Hữu Mười a household name in contemporary cinema.
