Biography

Graduated in Cinema from Mato Grosso´s Federal University, Olavo Fernandes works in audio-visual since 2017. Acting mostly as film editor, filmmaker, producer, and writer. By now, directed four short films. “Chimeric Desire to Belong to Another World”, from 2020 (“Best shorty short”, at 19ª Mostra de Audiovisual Universitário e Independente da América Latina). “The Untamed Uprising of the Killer Strawberries”, of 2022 (Best Mato Grossense Short Film and Best Direction in Short Film in the 21° Cinemato; Best Film Editing at Moscow Indie Film Festival; Finalist at All That Moves; Honorable Mention on WideScreen Film & Music Video Festival).
